Your data
How we don't use your data.
Most privacy policies are written so you won't read them. This one isn't. If anything here is unclear, email us and we'll fix the wording.
We don't sell it.
Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to a mailing list, not ever. There's no version of Zing where your email gets traded. If that ever changed we'd email every member first and let you delete everything before it did.
We don't track you around the internet.
No ad pixels, no third-party cookies following you to other sites. We count page views so we know which pages are useful. That count doesn't know who you are.
We don't hide anything in a checkbox.
The one box on the sign-up form does exactly what it says: it lets us list your business and email you about it. If we want to use your photo or your words somewhere new, we'll ask first, in a real email, with a real question in it.
We don't need much to begin with.
To list a business we need its name, what you do, and one way to reach you. Everything else on that form is optional and always will be.
What we actually keep
- Business owners
- What you typed into the form. Your business details are public on purpose — that's the point of a directory. Your personal email and phone are not, and never appear on the site.
- Anyone browsing
- Nothing you'd recognise as yours. No account, no login, no profile. Page-view counts only, not tied to a person.
- People who email us
- The message, and however long it takes to answer. Writing to us doesn't add you to any list.
Who else can see it
Three companies touch it, all doing infrastructure work: Google (the spreadsheet the site is built from), Cloudflare (hosting), and our email provider. None of them are given your information to use for their own purposes. No partners, no sponsors, no "select third parties."
What you can ask for, any time
- Show me what you have on me. We'll send it back, usually same day.
- Fix this. Wrong hours, misspelled name, a description that isn't you — say so and we'll change it.
- Take my listing down. No exit interview. Gone within a day, contact details deleted with it.
- Stop emailing me. Fine. You stay listed, we leave you alone.
For any of those: hello@welcometozing.com. A person reads it.
Kids
Zing isn't built for children and we don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13. If you think we have, tell us and we'll delete it.
If something goes wrong
If data ever ended up somewhere it shouldn't, we'd tell everyone affected directly and quickly, and say plainly what happened — rather than issue a statement about how much your privacy matters to us.
Last changed August 2026. If we change something meaningful we'll say what changed rather than quietly swapping the page.
